Featured Article by Dornob.com

We were honored to be featured by Dornob – “Design Ideas Daily” earlier this month after they discovered our project on Kickstarter.  It was great working with writer Joanne Camas for the interview and it is a delight to be among the brilliant and innovative ideas, products and designs.  Visit Dornob.com to view the “online collection of out-of-the-ordinary design ideas that might not make it into your more traditional architectural, urban and industrial design publications. We’re curating the web to feature everything from over-the-top luxury to incredible innovation.”

When Lawrence Hartley quit his job and set off to travel around southeast Asia in September 2015, little did he suspect that the trip would totally change his life. He and his friend Conrad Bergeron traveled to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, finishing up their trip in Indonesia. Continue reading Dornob.com Featured Product: “Indo-Scarf’s Mission to Comfort”

Dogwalker (Neon) Scarves on sale: In honor of my dog Bear!

Dogwalker (neon) scarves are now $5 off so you can enjoy being more visible on those late night jogs, bike rides, retro parties, and of course while walking your furry best friend.

The idea of naming the scarf “Dog-Walker” came about when thinking of how many work-out clothes are dark and the fact that my favorite night cap (closely followed by scotch and a cigar) was taking my dog Bear for a walk after dark.  He was a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who was allergic to grass, peed on people’s feet when he first met them, fought with the vacuum cleaner, loved loved loved cheese, and had been my trusted K9 companion for nearly 12 years.   Continue reading Dogwalker (Neon) Scarves on sale: In honor of my dog Bear!

“40 Tourist Scams to Avoid This Summer” – by Just The Flight

Looking around I found this blog post by “Mark” on justtheflight.co.uk from July 18, 2014.  Even though it is a couple of years old I found the information still extremely relevant and hope that Ind0-Scarf customers will be well informed before their next travel.  If you have a story of a scam or know of an additional way that thieves are taking advantage of tourists please leave  a comment help everyone stay informed.  I hope you enjoy the blog and info-graphic below.

“Tourists are often the most vulnerable to scams; they are probably unfamiliar with the surrounding area, are often in need of help and information and tend to be trusting of locals, are likely not to question what they see or are told, often cannot speak the language where they are, and are probably carrying large amounts of cash and credit.

Pick a Color, Any Color! – Kickstarter update 5/5 from 7/29/16

My Grandma testing out her special edition Indo-Scarf in Colorado
My Grandma testing out her special edition Indo-Scarf in Colorado

“Greetings all!

This is the last update necessary before the distribution of the Kickstarter rewards. We’d like to thank you for your support and following on this ride, and hope that you will continue to follow our journey to Rad Neck-wear and Beyond via our Website and Social Media pages(IG: indo_scarf, FB: @indoscarf).

We’ve undergone our first hiccup in production with losing touch with our planned Manufacturer.  We had a call scheduled earlier this month to finalize details, but it was to follow a surgery that Dan’s Wife was having on Cancer.  I’ve tried several times very graciously to touch base with no luck.  So for now we move on to another partnership, keeping Dan’s family in our prayers. “Good morning Indo-Scarf Nation!

I am excited to be writing you on my Birthday with only good news.  A lot has happened in the last 2 months and most importantly we are approaching July and looking to deliver the scarves on time.  Let’s do a quick rewind though, over the last 2 months we have:

  • Applied for an Indo-Scarf Credit Card
  • Filed for our LLC Business License
  • Built the framework for our Website (indoscarf.com – Check it out!)
  • Sampled hundreds of fabrics and have landed on a great fit
  • Beat down doors of contract manufacturers, testing the capabilities of a few now before pushing 100% production their way
  • Created buzz with our Social media accounts (Instagram: indo_scarf, Facebook: @indoscarf)
  • And ordered bulk zippers (strange buying zippers not attached to my jeans or coat!)

“Just like the recent “Occupy Wallstreet” protests, we too have a mission. To provide a safe and versatile scarf solution to those who are active. Active can mean, world traveling in need of a safe place to stash the passport/phone, surfer/hiker who might get chilly hanging out after their workout, or someone who walks from their car to the office and it’s chilly. We don’t discriminate, we just know that everyone is active in different ways and we have the answer INDO-SCARF! Continue reading “We are the 68%!!!” – Kickstarter update 1/5 from 4/13/16

Re-Integration: The follow up – Edited Travel Blog Summary from 2/10/16 S.E. Asia Backpacking Trip (Post 7/7)

Conrad and Lawrence returned home after 3 days of Airports and Airplanes
Conrad and Lawrence returned home after 3 days of Airports and Airplanes

“Now that I’ve been back in the U.S. for over a month, I have been able to reflect on most of what happened during our trip.  There are so many People, Places, Foods, Activities, and Memories for to look back on and smile about whenever I want, which is sooo cool. When someone who didn’t have a chance to keep up with my blog asks me how the trip was and what we did, I have absolutely no idea what to tell them.  When I wrote my blog, I summarized, paraphrased, and probably excluded over half of the things that occurred.  In 6 blogs I wrote nearly 10,000 words, so summarizing my trip even further to people typically results in a more vague response to these questions. I usually resort to “it was amazing- it was enlightening and I did/saw a lot of cool things.”  Not the best description, but the best I’ve been able to come up with after experiencing more new things in the last 3 months than in the last 5 years.
